This thin gap is a small space that could easily be activated by a temporary program, and a temporary structure. The space already essentially provides three facades (ground and two walls), and needs only three provisional facades to create a temporary building. Imagine a space downtown that allows the numerous greenhouses in and around the city to sell their fresh local products at a central location, gaining access to an inner city market that might not otherwise make a trip to the edge of town. Other organizations might partner on the project to provide cooking classes and a restaurant. What if the space were covered with an inflatable roof structure that would economically enclose the interior while also allowing light to pass inside?
